Looks: Yellowish bittern with dark brown flight feathers. Male is uniformly dull yellow above and buff below with black crown, chestnut head and neck. Female’s crown, neck and breast are streaked with brown. Juvenile has heavily streaked brown below and mottled with buff above. Lives: Reed beds, flooded paddyfields.
