Looks: Dark brown above and pale brown underparts with white spots and fine bars. At rest black and white crest visible. On overhead flight a white band across wings and tail can be seen. Sexes alike. Frequent characteristic call is an additional feature for identifying this bird. Lives: well wooded areas and forest.
