Looks: Olive brown upperparts and greying-white underparts. Black forehead, crown, nape and ear-coverts. (Subspecies bourdilloni occurs south of Palghat gap shows sooty brown crown and nape) Striking yellow iris. Lives: Thick scrub, dense undergrowth, evergreen and moist deciduous forests.
ഒലീവ്ബ്രൗൺ മുകൾഭാഗമുള്ള ഇവയുടെ അടിഭാഗത്തിന് ചാരനിറം കലർന്ന വെള്ളയാണ്. കഴുത്തിനും തലയ്ക്കും ചെവിത്തടത്തിനും കറുപ്പുനിറമുള്ള ഇവയുടെ കണ്ണിന് മഞ്ഞനിറമാണ്. അടിക്കാടുകളിലും നിത്യഹരിതവനങ്ങളിലും ഈർപ്പമുള്ള ഇലക്കാടുകളിലും കണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
