Looks: Large white plumage bird with distinctive flat black spoon shape bill with yellow tip and black legs. Juveniles shows pinkish bill. In breeding plumage yellowish brown patch on fore neck is present. Lives: Marshes, riverbanks and lagoons.
വെൺമയാർന്ന ശരീരം. ചട്ടുകത്തിന്റെ ആകൃതിയിലുള്ള കൊക്കിന്റെ അറ്റത്ത് മഞ്ഞനിറമുണ്ട്. കറുത്ത കാലുകൾ. തൊണ്ടയുടെ ഭാഗം ഒളിയുള്ള തവിട്ടുനിറമാണ്. കഴുത്തിനു മുൻഭാഗത്തുണ്ടാകുന്ന മഞ്ഞപ്പാടാണ് പ്രജനനസമയത്ത് ഈ പക്ഷിയെ തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നത്.
